Every Room, Built by God

“But Christ was faithful over His [own Father’s] house as a Son [and Master of it]. And it is we who are [now members] of this house, if we hold fast and firm to the end our joyful and exultant confidence and sense of triumph in our hope [in Christ].” ~Hebrews 3:6

Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it. ~Psalms 127:1

As children of God and as His houses in His Kingdom, co-laboring with God is a beautiful thing. The more we surrender to our Father, the more we see His perfect will and love for us. The more we allow God to build up our houses, the more we become who we were always designed to be.

Allowing Him to build our foundations, our altars, and our columns takes trust and surrender. The more we let Him into our hearts, minds, and souls, the more we allow Him into the other parts of our lives, like the rooms that make up who we are.

Building, renovating, and gutting out old “things” from our different rooms can take a lot more trust, patience, and time than we would like. But this part of the building process is key to having a stable and healthy life. Take a deep breath, ask the Holy Spirit to help you, and let’s begin walking through our different rooms.

At the heart of our house is our secret, hidden inner chamber. This is where our most private and guarded parts reside: our hearts, thoughts, desires, motives, wounds, and intimate relationship with Christ. What happens here influences everything, including whom we ultimately belong to: Christ or Satan. There is no in-between. Our entire lives, destinies, and eternity are at stake here.

Go to your secret room, open the door to Jesus, and let Him show you what needs to go, what has been there for too long, and what needs healing, restoration, and repair. Ask Him daily, if you can, “Jesus, is there anything in my soul that You want to heal today?” As He reveals these things to you, He will guide you to the other rooms that need cleaning.

For example, are your attic, basement, and closets in order, free from dust, clutter, and unwanted items? Is there emotional trauma, shame, painful memories, unforgiveness, or fear that needs healing and restoration? Do you need to invite the Lord into these areas, remove what no longer belongs, and take it out to the garbage?

We tend to tuck painful things away in different rooms of our lives. They can remain there for decades, collecting dust while unknowingly affecting our emotions and thought life. As He begins to show you what needs to go, ask the Holy Spirit to help you receive inner healing and deliverance. Ask Him how to move forward and whom to turn to for help. Ask, take His hand, and trust Him to lead you toward wholeness. He loves you so much and wants the best for you!!!

As you renovate and build with the Lord in your different rooms, you still have to live and eat. You still have to go to your kitchen daily and prepare healthy nourishment for your mind, body, and soul. Are you listening to the Holy Spirit’s guidance about what to take in, both naturally and spiritually? Are you eating your daily bread, the Word of God, and allowing it to nourish you, your family, and your friends? Are you preparing enough in your kitchen to have an overflow that you can share with others, offering them the gift of Jesus?

Every minute you spend in the kitchen, especially in the morning, can shape your entire day. Our lives are made up of daily choices that add up over time.

As you continue building your house and growing in your relationship with Him, God also wants you to invite others into your living room. This is where you get to know them, and they get to know you. It is a place to build community, grow together, and allow these relationships to sharpen you and help you become more like Christ. Doing life together is a beautiful thing, and creating memories with others is priceless.

There are many rooms in our lives, and as we work with God, He will show us which rooms have been abandoned, closed off, or need His healing touch. Every room is important, from the attic to the gym to the bathroom. They all serve a purpose. Some rooms are easier to maintain because they play a smaller role in our lives, while others require a lot more time with Jesus as He helps us remove the cobwebs, clear the clutter, and let go of forgotten things.

Will you be brave enough to let Him have access to every part of your house and make whatever changes are necessary?

He loves you so much, and He is asking for your yes—to surrender it all to Him. Trust Him. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you and lead you toward wholeness, so that every room of your soul and every area of your life can be cleansed, healed, and made free in Him.

With Love,

Read & Declare Over Yourself

Today Jesus, I invite You into every room of my mind, body, and soul.

Search me and know my heart. Reveal anything within me

that does not align with Your truth, and expose the hidden places

that need Your healing, restoration, and cleansing.

Give me the courage to surrender what I have held onto for too long

and the faith to trust You through every part of the rebuilding process.

Holy Spirit, guide me as I renew my mind, strengthen my foundation, and

allow You to transform every area of my life.

I surrender my thoughts, desires, wounds,

habits, and relationships to You.

Leave no room untouched by Your presence.

My heart is open. My house is Yours. Every room is surrendered to You.

I choose today, to walk in truth, healing, freedom, and obedience.

In Jesus’ name, amen, amen.
