Rebuilding The Altar

This week, we are entering into a multi-week series about God being our builder—of who we are and what our lives should look like.

“But Christ was faithful over His [own Father’s] house as a Son [and Master of it]. And it is we who are [now members] of this house, if we hold fast and firm to the end our joyful and exultant confidence and sense of triumph in our hope [in Christ].” ~Hebrews 3:6

Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it. ~Psalms 127:1

To have a strong house or building, you need a strong foundation set before anything is built. Since we are God’s house, we need to allow God to help us make sure our foundation is solid and fully rooted in Him.

We need to lay down our plans for our lives, every relationship and habit, and seek His help, His advice, and His wisdom. We need to seek Him in all things, as the compass for our lives.

We have to do this daily, as the best relationships in life are those filled with intention, time, and getting to know the other person. We need this time alone with Him, like Jesus modeled for us, to keep our altars burning for Him.

When do we need to restore our altars?

If the fire of God inside you—the passion of having Him in your life—is not burning the way it should be, you need to restore your altar.

It does not matter if you have been in relationship with Jesus for 70 years or 7 minutes. You need a burning altar inside you to stay in communion with Christ, so you can stay fully attuned to Him.

Don’t hesitate to restore your altar.

DO IT NOW, NOT TOMORROW. NOW.

We never know when we will depart from this earth.

But how can I? I’m so busy!!!

By setting your alarms. By turning off your phones, TVs, etc. Go to a quiet place where you can find solitude. Grab your Bible, worship music, a box of tissues, a journal or notepad, and an expectant heart.

It does not matter, especially in the beginning, if it’s a corner of your room, the bathroom, or a proper prayer closet. It’s your special date with the Creator of the universe.

In this alone time, He is already happy that you are coming away from the chaos of life to get alone with Him.

No need to perform. No need to have the right words.

Jesus knows everything about you—every thought, the good, the bad, and the ugly—and He still loves you. He is still celebrating you as His child.

He chooses you.
He sees you.
He knows you.
He loves you more than anyone else on this earth.

Enter the secret place, and let Him wow you!!!

With Love,
The G.O.A.A. Team

Scriptures to Meditate On

“God, the one and only— I’ll wait as long as he says. Everything I need comes from him, so why not? He’s solid rock under my feet, breathing room for my soul, An impregnable castle: I’m set for life.” ~Psalms 62:1

“Early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left [the house], and went out to a secluded place, and was praying there.”~ Mark 1:35

“But he would withdraw to desolate places and pray.” ~Luke 5:16 ESV

“But Jesus replied, “It is written and forever remains written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God.’ ” [Deut 8:3]” ~Matthew 4:4

Read & Declare Over Yourself

I will wait on God.

I will wait as long as He says,
because everything I need comes from Him.

He is my solid rock beneath my feet.
He is my breathing room for my soul.
He is my impregnable fortress.
In Him, I am secure.

I will not be moved by what I see.
I will not rush ahead of God.
I will trust His timing, His wisdom, and His ways.

God is my foundation.
God is my refuge.
God is my security.

I have everything I need in Him.

I will wait.
I will trust.
I will stand firm.

I’m set for life because my life is built on Him.
